While the Senate, House, and Governor elections are not yet finalized, the 2024 US Presidential Election has finished, with all of the states officially won by a candidate. Here’s a brief recap of the presidential results, by state.
The Republican candidate and Former President, now President-elect Donald J. Trump has won the election with 312 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 required to win. His opponent, Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris received 226 electoral votes.
At the time of writing, an estimated over 99% of votes across the US have been counted, or about 154.0 million. Of those, 50% or about 76.9 million votes were for President-elect Trump, securing him the popular vote and winning him enough states to guarantee the election (see below). 48.4%, or 74.4 million votes were in favor of Vice President Harris. A total of about 1.7% of votes went to other various candidates, including: Green Party candidate Jill Stein (0.5%, ~777.3k votes); independent candidate Robert Kennedy (0.5%, ~754.1k votes); Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver (0.4%, ~640.2k votes); and 0.3% of votes (387.9k) for others.
Here are lists of which states the primary candidates won. These are sourced from a mix of the New York Times Live Election Results page, which has a detailed breakdown and several helpful graphs, and the AP Official Results page, which also has more breakdowns.
