As Mountain Range High School welcomes everybody to the start of a new year, they also welcome the start of fall sports. So far, athletes have had a whole month of matches against other schools and practices.
Starting with boys soccer with a record of 1-4, they have been partaking in 5A/4A Rocky Mountain leagues. As they continue playing in their non-league games, they continue to make more and more of an effort to come back with their next game being September 10th.
Next, with boys football in 5A Metro North with a record of 0-2. The boys football team is ranked 122 in the state of Colorado. They have only had two games, and their student section has been cheering them on and hoping for a win, especially with the homecoming game coming up on September 20th against Centaurus High School.
As we move to our girl sports, starting with Flag Football with a record of 1-5 in the 5A/4A Northern Colorado league. Layla Robinson and Delilah Lucero have made quite a hussle on the field with the most Receiving and Rushing yards per game. Our girls flag football team is fighting to win their next game on September 9th.
The Softball team is in the 5A/4A Rocky Mountain league with a 2-7 overall record and have been putting up a fight against their competition, with their two games won against Fountain-Fort Carson with a final score of 19-9! With that being said, their second win was against Rangeview with a final score of 17-2.
Now leaning into our final sport, girls volleyball is also partaking in the 5A/4A Rocky Mountain League. Their record is 1-5 and ranking 316 in Colorado. Maddison Eliason with the most blocks on the team and Jayla Pouncil with the most serving aces per game.
As the rest of the fall sports have not started their competitive season yet, they have been working hard in the gym, preparing to bring highlights to the athletics Mountain Range has to offer.
