With plenty of experience, Mr. Vanwanseele has recently moved onto the scene of teaching a couple of years ago. Wishing to bring his past experiences to help guide students to good future business decisions.
Mr. Vanwanseele at his past job, worked as a business solutions manager for the company
ActivateWork. He worked with employers in the Denver area to hire graduates from entry-level IT classes. Upskilled people who had an interest in IT and even went to boot camp with them and worked with them to find jobs.
“Now how does this affect teaching?” this is a question you might ask. Mr. Van has plenty of experience from business-related jobs, so he’s able to successfully teach MRHS lessons and know what’s going on and how he’s going to be able to explain them correctly and being able to give knowledge to students who want to actually learn.
Mr. Van has seen the world of business change drastically since he first started working in it. From the advent of the internet to the creation of real AI. Being able to recognize the business trends going on outside in the world. He believes that business is going to “continue to lean into AI” As the future of business creeps close in the upcoming years.
But yet he also believes that even with technology, “face-to-face is irreplaceable.” Then giving advice afterward for soft skills that are crucial in business, saying overall that to be friendly to customers, and how a cashier position isn’t that bad.
Mr. Van stays motivated by the students themselves. The ones that prefer to engage in activities and choose to learn. He wants the students to bring curiosity and interest in the lessons he teaches. Overall stating how that is how he gets motivated to continue bringing a bright attitude to classes.
However, a couple students that wish to remain anonymous, would rather wish that he would just “hand us papers and that’s that.” Or say that he should be more strict. But, another anonymous student had claimed that Mr. Van was “doing good” and was going to leave a “bright future” on some students that actually pay attention. Going on to say afterwards that Mr. Van changed his perspective on business in a positive way.
He’s interested in every part of business, stating that “a lot of things we do in business make life better. The more we know about money the better off we are in the future.”
