A horror movie called The First Purge which released on July 4, 2018, directed by Gerard McMurray and written by James DeMonaco has a rating of 3.5 stars in the media. This movie is about the origins of the annual purge which is a twelve hour span once a year in which all crime in the U.S. is legal including violence, theft, murder, ect… The government says they want to have a purge to push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year and will be paying each person $5000 for participation by implanting tracking devices in them as well as contact lenses to wear during the purge. The movie has a character named Nya that lives in a poor apartment with her brother that she is protective over named Isaiah. She is one of the protesters against purging along with a large group of people. However, when the purge starts, her brother Isaiah goes out purging only to kill his enemy named Skeletor which ends up getting Nya involved with danger until the purge ends.The movie has a theme in lighting colors which are shown a lot including blue, green and purple and was filmed at Buffalo, New York U.S. This movie has a box office of 137.1 million USD since its release.
